As a designer I am heavily influenced by the heritage of British cloth and traditional tweed making. My approach to weaving aims to deviate and disrupt common views on stereotypes, clichés and styles. Through predominantly hand woven techniques, I have full understanding of the cloth and its potential. Colour and proportion allow me to offset classic techniques with unique approaches; texture and handle create luxury textiles with elegant draping for a variety of applications.
I specialise in contemporary Menswear apparel textiles for high-end luxury brands, with an interest in broadening horizons and challenging the status quo. My other work has included collections for service upholstery, interior window treatments and Womenswear couture. I aim to discover new trends and to encourage innovative aesthetics for fashion and textile design.
I have a seasonal portfolio, which is available for viewing on request. I am able to commission weave samples, trims and single width cloth. I can consult on specific projects, including print design and illustration, to enable textile production for various markets.
I am also available for colour and textile consultancy for fashion, film and theatre, with up to date contacts in UK film and theatre.
